Michalek Brothers Racing Returns to Norwalk with Unfinished Business
Returning to competition for the first time since runner-up debut
Michalek Brothers Racing is excited to announce its return to NHRA Top Alcohol Dragster competition at the 7th Annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals July 5-7 at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, OH. Coming off of a dream debut race at last month’s Mickey Mart Rewards Cavalcade of Stars, this event will be MBR’s first entry into NHRA national event competition.
Michalek Brothers Racing returns to Norwalk with primary sponsorship from Champion Spark Plugs.
MBR will once again attack the Norwalk quarter-mile with Champion Spark Plugs serving as the primary sponsor with corresponding branding adorned on the side of the 270mph A/fuel dragster entry. Federal Mogul brand partners, Fel-Pro, Speed-Pro, and Sealed Power, will continue to offer associate support as well.
Driver Kyle Michalek is eager to return to the cockpit with the partners that made MBR’s transition into an A/fuel dragster possible.
“We are very excited to pick up where we left off last race. Returning to Summit Motorsports Park with Champion and all of the MBR family, friends, and fans who help support our effort makes us feel very confident as we look forward to competing in our first national event,” said Kyle.
Racing in front of a record-breaking crowd in his debut race, Kyle Michalek piloted the Dreher Motorsports dragster to a career best 5.398 second pass at 259.86 MPH on his opening lap to snag the #2 qualifying position. After another strong, consistent showing on Saturday, the team took the Top Alcohol Dragster field by storm during eliminations on Sunday before coming up just short against three-time NHRA North Central region champion, Marty Thacker, in a runner-up finish. Kyle was quick to attribute the team’s early success in the class to the quality of the car the Dreher family supplied him with.

“It is a great privilege to be able to work once again with Dreher family,” Kyle emphasized. “We really appreciate the opportunity they have given us to step into their car and we look forward to continuing to develop our working relationship as a team.”
The Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals has quickly become a signature race on the NHRA circuit and the Bader family-owned facility is one of the premier tracks on tour. Racing action kicks off for MBR on Friday afternoon with qualifying sessions at 12:00PM and 3:00PM. The team will then be on track for their final qualifying session on Saturday at 10:00AM followed by first round of eliminations at 4:00PM. Pending first round results, MBR returns to action on Sunday for up to 3 rounds of eliminations beginning at 12:00PM. Event coverage will be broadcast July 13 on ESPN2 at 9:00AM EST.
