MBR Kicks Off Pivotal 3 Race Finale at Prestigious Night Under Fire
Aiming to defend 2018 and 2019 event titles
Michalek Brothers Racing (MBR) kicks off the second half of the season in grand fashion at Summit Motorsports Park (GET DIRECTIONS) this Saturday, August 7 at the 44th running of the track’s famed Night Under Fire event. For one night only, MBR and Gutierrez Brothers Racing (GBR) will line up their 270MPH Top Alcohol Dragsters head-to-head under the lights in front of a capacity crowd in Norwalk, OH.
“There are certain races you mark on your calendar every year and look forward to; this is THE RACE we look forward to every year,” said Kyle. “Bill Bader, Jr and his team at Summit Motorsports Park put on the best one day show in drag racing, and we are honored to be included. It gives me chills thinking about pulling up to the starting line with packed stands and fans standing 5 deep along the fence on both sides of the track. This race is also filled with the track’s signature patriotism and fireworks show that is unlike anything else we do at any other track. I can’t wait to get there and get some fire in the pipes!”
Michalek Brothers Racing will attempt to defend their 2018 and 2019 Night Under Fire titles.
This year’s event will mark the third time that MBR will square off against GBR in a brothers vs. brothers, Ohio vs. Michigan, and A/fuel vs. supercharged alcohol dragster battle on the quarter-mile in front of over 40,000 fans. Following pre-race ceremonies at 5:30PM, MBR and GBR hit the track for race 1 of 2 just after 7:00PM. The teams will then service their cars and come back for a spectacular night race under the lights before the evening ends with Summit Motorsports Park’s incomparable $100,000+ fireworks show.
“This is the type of event that every team dreams about competing in,” said Corey. “Nowhere else in the sport of drag racing will you have a chance to line up in front of a larger crowd than at Night Under Fire. We’re honored to be included in the program for the third time and we’re focused on running our car hard to springboard ourselves into our final two NHRA national events of the year in Indianapolis and Charlotte where we have set very high expectations for ourselves.”
Limited seats remain and tickets can be purchased online from Summit Motorsports Park HERE. Fans interested in sitting near the team’s pit area are encouraged to select seats on the “Budweiser” side of the track.
