Michalek Brothers Racing Reloaded for Norwalk

After an up and down weekend to kick off the 2021 season at the NGK/NTK Four Wide Nationals in Charlotte, Michalek Brothers Racing (MBR) returns to action this weekend at the 15th annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals in Norwalk, OH. This event will mark the team’s first NHRA event in MBR’s home state since running the 2018 edition.

Michalek Brothers Racing looks to build on the momentum from their first race of the year in Charlotte.

It’s been a hectic 6 weeks of preparation since MBR coasted across the finish line during the first round of eliminations in Charlotte with a crankshaft failure and ultimately an oil fire that wreaked havoc on nearly all components behind the roll cage of MBR’s A/fuel dragster.

Team co-owner and Crew Chief, Kyle Michalek, has shifted his focus to the future and looks forward to a weekend of continued progress after seeing the car respond well to tune-up changes made in Charlotte.

“After suffering a catastrophic engine failure and the ensuing fire, it would be easy to overlook the progress we have made with our tune up,” said Kyle. “We had a really good day, and not so good day down at Charlotte, but the car is making positive strides in on track performance. Aside from a very costly parts failure, we are moving in the right direction towards being able to compete with the perennial contenders on the NHRA tour. The crew is doing a great job, and we cannot wait to get back to the track and get after it again in front of our hometown family and friends at Summit Motorsports Park!”

Off the track, this weekend’s event will be jam-packed with opportunities for Summit Motorsports Park’s full capacity crowd to interact with MBR brand partners Fund That Flip and The Empowerment Alliance. Fund That Flip will have a team present in NHRA’s Nitro Alley all weekend long to help fans learn more about opportunities for both investing in private real estate, and to begin the conversation with those who are looking to have their own fix and flip projects funded. Be sure to stop by their tent to get registered for one of Fund That Flip’s seven remaining FREE ticket giveaways for a race of your choice!

Michalek Brothers Racing looks and Fund That Flip are back for year 2 of their mutually beneficial partnership.

Race fans can also take home a limited edition MBR/Empowerment Alliance t-shirt at this event by signing up to join The Empowerment Alliance and presenting their confirmation email at the Summit Motorsports Park apparel shop throughout the weekend.

Race fans at Summit Motorsports Park can pick up a FREE limited edition t-shirt at the track apparel store upon signing up to be apart of the Empowerment Alliance.

“It’s so great to finally be competing at an NHRA national event in Ohio again,” said Corey Michalek. “While it was a significant amount of work to get things turned around from Charlotte to be race ready again this weekend, our team is really looking forward to getting the car back on track because we feel like we really made some good strides in Charlotte.”

“I also can’t wait for all of the different things we have going on off the track with Fund That Flip and The Empowerment Alliance. We’re so excited to welcome Fund That Flip’s guests to the track on Friday and Saturday, and for their team to finally have a chance to meet and interact with the NHRA fans on Nitro Alley. Also, how cool are those Empowerment Alliance shirts?! It couldn’t be easier for those in attendance to receive one and we look forward to the NHRA fans claiming theirs all weekend long!”

Michalek Brothers Racing will kick off their weekend on track on Friday with two qualifying runs at 12:45PM and 4:45PM, followed by final qualifying at 10:00AM on Saturday AM. Racing action then kicks into high gear as the sixteen highest qualified Top Alcohol Dragsters on the property will square off for rounds 1 and 2 of eliminations at 2:15PM and 6:30PM to round out the evening. The four remaining cars will then battle it out for the Wally and the famed Summit Motorsports Park ice cream scoop trophies on Sunday with the semi-final round of eliminations set to be contested at 1:10PM and final round at 4:05PM.

Fans planning to attend this weekend’s event can find tickets online at Summit Motorsports Park’s website and directions to the facility here.
