Michalek Brothers Racing Returns to the Track with Greater Purpose
MBR set to celebrate the life of Stephanie Andrews Michalek at 2019 Night Under Fire
Michalek Brothers Racing (MBR) returns to competition at Summit Motorsports Park (get directions) on Saturday, August 10 to defend their Top Alcohol Dragster title from the 2018 Night Under Fire. The MBR A/fuel dragster will roll out of the trailer donning the Stephanie Andrews Michalek commemorative decal for the first time, and friends and family will be wearing identical pins to come together as one to celebrate Steph’s life.
MBR will proudly debut the attached decal to commemorate the life of Stephanie Andrews Michalek at the 2019 Night Under Fire, and all family and friends are highly encouraged to be at the track in person for a special announcement in Stephanie’s honor during the 5:30pm pre-race ceremony with a great night of racing and fun to follow!
“The past several months have been the most challenging months of my life,” said Kyle Michalek. “Through this challenge I have been provided unconditional love and support from both family and friends as all of us try to find our way forward from this huge loss. Stephanie always is and always will be on our minds, and this weekend will be a great way for us to remember her and honor her legacy with the tribute decal and the special announcement we have planned during the pre-race ceremonies.”
The show officially begins at 5:30PM for pre-race ceremonies where track owner and event emcee Bill Bader Jr. will set the stage for the night to come. MBR HIGHLY encourages all friends, family, and fans to be in their seats in time for this segment of the day as Kyle Michalek will be making a special announcement during introductions.
“I am going to be vague, but I will say you have to be there for the announcement,” said Kyle. “I am very excited to share this news!”
Following pre-race ceremonies and what will undoubtedly be a powerful, patriotic tribute to our great country, it’s all business. For the second year in a row, MBR will square off against Gutierrez Brothers Racing (GBR) in a brothers vs. brothers, Ohio vs. Michigan, and A/fuel vs. supercharged dragster battle on the quarter-mile in front of over 40,000 fans. MBR hits the track for race 1 of 2 against GBR and their MGM Grand sponsored supercharged alcohol dragster just after 7:00PM. The teams will then service their cars and come back for a spectacular night session under the lights before the evening ends with Summit Motorsports Park’s incomparable $125,000 fireworks show.
Michalek Brothers Racing and the ENERGIZE A/fuel dragster runs a 5.325 second lap at over 271MPH in front of a sold out crowd at the 2018 Night Under Fire. Track owner and ENERGIZE founder, Bill Bader, Jr., with the legendary call on the microphone.
“Our whole group is excited to be at the track for multiple reasons,” said Corey Michalek. “Yes, we’re looking forward to running the car and competing in such a special event, but we’re most excited about being at the track with friends and family to celebrate Steph. Being there provides a sense of normalcy for all of us, and it’s going to be really special to have such a large support system there.”
Limited seats remain and tickets can be purchased online from Summit Motorsports Park here. For fans interested in sitting near the team’s pit area, MBR will be parked on the “Budweiser” side of the track.
