Michalek Brothers Racing Exits Four-Wide Nationals After First Round False Start

.021 second red light eliminates MBR

Michalek Brothers Racing (MBR) turned in a solid on-track performance at the 2023 Circle K NHRA Four-Wide Nationals posting a 5.271 second pass at over 273MPH during the second round of qualifying to secure the #7 position. MBR’s hopes of repeating as defending event champions collapsed during the opening round of eliminations at the hands of a -.021 false start reaction time.

“There’s nothing worse than throwing away a race at the starting line,” said Corey. “Our car was running great all day on Saturday and it was set up to run hard during E1 and I just pushed a little too hard. It will be a long six weeks until we get to try again, but I’m looking forward to having a chance to redeem myself.”

MBR’s next race takes the team back to Ohio for the team’s annual stop at the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals the weekend of June 23-25.
