Michalek Brothers Racing Kicks Off 2023 National Event Campaign in Florida
Michalek Brothers Racing (MBR) returns to action today in NHRA National Event competition as qualifying begins for the 2023 NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville, FL.
Coming off a season of two event wins and new career best elapsed times and mile per hour performance marks, the team is hungry to kick off a new year with a strong showing amongst a stacked field of competitors in the Sunshine State.
“I’m pumped to be back at the track with our team and our partners at Fund That Flip after ending our season last year in Dallas,” said Corey. “We enjoyed a great year last year, but we have moved on and we have lofty expectations for where we think we should be in terms of performance with our car this year. We spent a lot of time in the offseason tweaking our combination and now it’s up to us to show what we’re capable of. I’m really looking forward to kicking things off!”
MBR and the Fund That Flip A/fuel dragster begin their 2023 season with a single qualifying session on Thursday, March 9 at 4:30PM. Friday’s schedule has the team on track for the final two qualifying rounds at 11:45AM and 6:30PM before heading into rounds 1 and 2 of eliminations on Saturday at 10:15AM and 2:00PM. Sunday’s final two rounds of eliminations will be contested at 1:00PM and 2:215PM.
“It’s was a fast and incredibly busy offseason,” said Kyle. “Both Corey and I started new entrepreneurial ventures over the past few months and have been stretched many different ways. However, one thing remains the same, we both still have fires burning inside to run a competitive race team and look forward to going head-to-head with the best in our sport starting again this weekend!”
